Terms of service

  1. Age Requirements
    1. ONLY USERS WHO ARE FIFTEEN (15) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER MAY REGISTER FOR OR USE THE THRIFT-A-LOT SERVICE. The THRIFT-A-LOT Service is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of fifteen (15)
  2. Directions Via Google
    1. All navigation or direction services provided are by google maps and are held by googles terms and conditions See here https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms
  3. License
    1. License Grant. Subject to the Agreement's terms, during the Term, thrift maps grants to Customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, license to use the Services in Customer Application(s).
    2. License Requirements and Restrictions. The following are conditions of the license granted in Section 3.1 (License Grant). In this Section 3.2 (License Requirements and Restrictions), the phrase “Customer will not” means “Customer will not, and will not permit a third party to”.
      1. General Restrictions. Customer will not: (a) copy, modify, create a derivative work of, reverse engineer, decompile, translate, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract any or all of the source code (except to the extent such restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law); (b) sublicense, transfer, or distribute any of the Services; (c) sell, resell, sublicense, transfer, or distribute the Services; or (d) access or use the Services: (i) for High Risk Activities; (ii) in a manner intended to avoid incurring Fees; (iii) for materials or activities that are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) maintained by the United States Department of State; (iv) in a manner that breaches, or causes the breach of, Export Control Laws; or (v) to transmit, store, or process health information subject to United States HIPAA regulations.
  4. Intellectual Property Rights; Feedback
    1. Intellectual Property Rights. Except as expressly stated in the Agreement, the Agreement does not grant either party any rights, implied or otherwise, to the other’s content or any of the other’s intellectual property. As between the parties, Customer owns all Intellectual Property Rights in the Customer Application, and Google owns all Intellectual Property Rights in the THRIFT-A-LOT Core Services.
    2. Customer Feedback. If Customer provides THRIFT-A-LOT Feedback about the Services, then Google may use that information without obligation to Customer, and Customer irrevocably assigns to THRIFT-A-LOT all right, title, and interest in that Feedback.
  5. Liability
    1. Limited Liabilities
      1. To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to Section 5.2 (Unlimited Liabilities), neither party and THRIFT-A-LOT licensors will have any Liability arising out of or relating to the Agreement for any (i) indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages or (ii) lost revenues, profits, savings, or goodwill.
      2. Each party’s total aggregate Liability for damages arising out of or relating to the Agreement is limited to the Fees Customer paid under the Agreement during the 12 month period before the event giving rise to Liability.
    2. Unlimited Liabilities. Nothing in the Agreement excludes or limits either party’s Liability for:
      1. Its infringement of the other party’s Intellectual Property Rights
      2. Its payment obligations under the Agreement; or
      3. Matters for which liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law
  6. No bullying, no violence, no threats
    1. We prohibit acts of violence, verbal or written suggestions of violence, and any attempt to intimidate, harass, or otherwise violate the safety and wellbeing of others.
  7. No discrimination
    1. Everyone who abides by our policies and standards is welcome here. Mistreatment of any kind on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or disability will not be tolerated
  8. User Account Reviews & Feedback
    1. The THRIFT-A-LOT service allows customers to leave reviews on accounts you visit on the maps or shop with online.
    2. All reviews must complies with the terms and conditions of service at 6.1 and 7.1
    3. We highly encourage anyone we views anything they find inappropriate or that goes against the terms of use to report is immediately to thrift support customer service @ help@thriftsupport.com
  9. Privacy Policy
    1. When you use our services, you’re trusting us with your information. We understand this is a big responsibility and work hard to protect your information and put you in control.
    2. We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
    3. The following information may be stored in the register:
      1. Personal details: Name, email address, phone number, street address.
      2. Account details: username, password (stored in encrypted format).
      3. The description text that the user may write about him/herself.
      4. The offers and requests the user has posted to the service.
      5. The given and received feedback and badges.
      6. Statistical data about service usage, e.g. number of times the user has logged in.
  10. Garage Sale Postings
    1. All garage sale postings on the THRIFT-A-LOT marketplace must comply with all terms of service.
    2. Any user of the marketplace may upload and post an upcoming garage/yard sale to the THRIFT-A-LOT marketplace.
    3. Users must have an accurate address on the garage sale listing and an accurate date for the day of sale.
    4. Any garage or yard sale posting listed with inaccurate information is subject to removal without notice or reason.
  11. Social and Sharing Posts
    1. Any user of our platform can create social listings to share their treasure finds with others in the community.
    2. All social or other posts must comply with our terms of service.
    3. No user is allowed to post malicious content.
    4. No user may create a for-sale listing on the newsfeed.
    5. No user will steal or sabotage another user, product, or brand affiliated or not with the THRIFT-A-LOT marketplace.
    6. Unapproved marketing posts may be subject to removal without any notice or reason.
    7. Sexual content, harassment, violence, and political content are not allowed under any circumstances.
  12. User Account Login-Logout
    1. All user accounts are allowed their own unique username.
    2. Username cannot contain drug, sexual, racial, or hateful content.
    3. Profile usernames cannot infringe or trick a registered company or trademark.
    4. Users are responsible for their account content and information posted or created.
    5. Users are responsible for logging out of their account.
    6. THRIFT-A-LOT cannot be held responsible for hacked or stolen information on a user's account.
  13. Prohibited Marketplace Product Listings
    1. Only products that meet our terms of service are allowed.
    2. No weapons or combat knives.
    3. No sexual content allowed.
    4. No drugs or pharmaceuticals.
    5. Selling a vehicle without a valid title.
    6. Selling real estate is not allowed.
    7. Stolen or fake merchandise.
    8. Any user found listing any of these items/services will be removed immediately from the website and banned with no reason needed.
  14. Safety and Liability
    1. Users agree that when setting a place/time or date to pick up a for-sale product, they are acting independently and THRIFT-A-LOT is not liable for personal injury, damages, or any other accidents that can happen outside the platform.
    2. Users agree that they are responsible for any other user they meet outside the marketplace for any transaction whatsoever.
  15. Accounts Allowed to Be a Store
    1. To have or create a store front listing on the Maps server, you must have a valid business in the United States of America.
    2. Stores must be online, walk-in (brick and mortar), or both.
    3. Allowed store industries are thrift stores, pawn shops, boutiques, and furniture stores.
    4. Any store profile that is not a valid active company within the United States of America or does not fall within one of our current allowed industries will be subject to deletion and banned from the website.
  16. Connecting Your Bank for Zelle or Cashapp Payments
    1. Users with accounts can securely connect their bank information and pay or receive payments through the online platform.
    2. Connecting your Zelle or Cashapp accounts enables users to have a cashless pickup transaction, which can be a safer alternative.
    3. Both user and seller must have verified bank accounts set up to allow this feature to increase the safety of both user and dealer transactions through the platform.
    4. Any sales processed outside the online platform are not responsible for any loss or damages.
    5. Users must receive the product upon the sending of payment. Any online transaction payment made through the THRIFT-A-LOT platform via Zelle or Cashapp is non-reversible.
    6. All online transactions through the THRIFT-A-LOT platform may incur a 5-10% fee.
  17. Processing a Payment with STRIPE
    1. Any payment made online to THRIFT-A-LOT for services or marketing is done via a third-party STRIPE.

  18. Acknowledgment
    1. By continuing on to thriftalot.com, you agree to the said terms and conditions and understand that you are bound by these terms.
    2. You also acknowledge that THRIFT-A-LOT can add, create, or make changes to the thrift maps database system at any time without being liable for any loss of information or data, or damages.
    3. User information or any other content on user accounts gives THRIFT-A-LOT access to any created information as it relates to any investigation into the violation of our set terms of services within this agreement.
